Staff Spotlight - Front of House, Aruna
- Thursday, 14 February 2019
This month we interview our new lead receptionist, Aruna. She recently joined Fulham Massage & Wellness and is already making a great difference to our Fulham community.
Where are you from, Aruna? What is your background?
In terms of professionally, I worked in a business centre as a front of house manager. I also set up my own company. When I had my injury, I started to think a lot about health and wellbeing. This prompted me to change my career as I wanted to be in the health and wellness industry. I then did a temporary work for charity as an operational manager and also bought a franchise called Juice Plus which I’m doing in my spare time – it’s to do with nutritional supplements.
What does wellness mean to you?
It means complete wellbeing.
Why did you choose to work at Fulham Massage & Wellness?
I really wanted to be in an environment that adds value to health and wellness.
What do you consider your biggest life achievement?
Oh gosh, many things! My whole life experience, which made me who I am today.

For my mental wellbeing, I enjoy meditation, which I have practised for 18 years. For exercise, I go swimming and do Pilates.
What’s your secret dream?
My secret dream is to achieve the highest state of meditation.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you choose to be right now?
I would choose to be in UK, in London, just as we are now because I do believe it’s a heart of the universe and also because it’s so diverse.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
Massage leaflets! It’s been giving me more understanding to biological, physiological and anatomical factors and explaining why massage is so important.
What inspires you?
Everything inspires me!
What is your most important value in life?
Being peaceful because if you’re peaceful within yourself then your organs and nerves are peaceful and you’re admitting peace.
What would you name your boat if you had one?
I would call it “Atma” which means soul in Indian.
What’s your biggest screw up in the kitchen?
I forgot to put a washing machine on! I thought I did but it needed to press it twice.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
It was just yesterday! It was money for my best friend’s daughters. It was their 21st birthday :)
What is your strongest personal quality?
I am a very loving person and my friends would tell you the same.
If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
It would be a mediation retreat. I went to one in India which was a musical medication retreat in 2003. I would like to witness different ones in different countries.
